The VLS Rig

 

The patented Chamak booths are innovatively designed to be rollaway booth units (small 4ft by 4ft footprint, with self-contained water supply), allowing positioning in high demand locations and the flexibility to move.

 

The booth incorporates a environmentally friendly, high-efficiency front-loading washing machine, which not only gives a better washing end-result but also is extremely efficient in water usage. The front loading machine uses about 40% less water than a top-loading machine, thus, reducing the resource intensiveness for the venture.

 

We have developed a unique water handling system which allows us to use the rig without having any water connection close by, allowing flexibility in locating where the customer is and not where the utilities are available.

 

Finally, it has a proprietary low-cost drying unit that completely dries the clothes versus the 80-90% achieved by a spin-dry in the washing machine alone. This allows the unit to operate every day of the year and under any weather conditions, even during the monsoons.

 

The Process

 

The customer promise is to get a better-quality washing experience, at a convenient location (because of small footprint of the booth), at just Rs. 60 per kg of clothes.

 

1. Customers bring their clothes to the Chamak booth

2. The clothes are then sorted (whites and colored) and tagged

3. Treatment is applied on the areas with stains/ dirt (such as collars)

4. Clothes are washed in a high-performance washing machine

5. They are placed in the dryer for 45 to 60 mins

6. Lastly, they are taken out, ironed, and folded

 

VLS will process each customer’s batch within 24 hours, compared to 5-7 days required with regular launderettes.

 

The process focuses on efficiency and quality, ensuring a reasonable pricing and superior wash for not just occasion clothes but for everyday clothing. Customers can be sure that each piece of clothing is handled personally by the entrepreneur and is put through the best washing procedure. High performance machines and detergents are gentle on clothes while tough on stains, making clothes shine.
